Please help us make this year's MADD Canada PIA Law Strides for Change - 2016 in support of MADD Canada - Mothers Against Drunk Driving one of the best ever
It was the evening before Father's Day, 2007. My husband, Doug, and our youngest child, Emily, were returning from a family vist with Doug's parents. Suddenly, an impaired and speeding driver veered into Doug's lane, and hit them head-on. Doug was killed instantly, and Emily was very badly injured.
Doug and I were together for 35 years; he was my very best friend, true soulmate and kindred spirit. His unwavering love and support formed my core, and gave me the strength, energy and confidence to go out into the world.
Doug was also the most amazing Dad to our four wonderful children. He built a deep and individual relationship with each child, full of love and compassion, caring and selflessness, laughter, advice and guidance.
Oh to hold your hand one more time, and to have one more of your huge hugs, to lie on your shoulder at night and share the day's experiences, and our hopes and dreams.
Horrendous stories of impaired driving continue. Please consider donating to this very worthwhile cause in Doug's memory. Thank you so much.
