Please help us make this year's Santa Shuffle 2022 - Toronto in support of The Governing Council of the Salvation Army in Canada one of the best ever

We’re once again raising support to fund The Gateway’s Drop-in program for 2023, and this year we’ve increased our fundraising goal to $100,000. It’s a tall task, but we already have 400 participants signed up and as a collective I know we can do it.

The Gateway Drop-in is a homelessness prevention program that provides warm meals, safety and a place of connection for individuals who are precariously housed. Many of the folks who come to our Drop-in program are constantly faced with the choice between paying their rent and putting food in their fridge, and the meals they receive from us help to ease that stress in a very practical way.

I have a front row seat to the seeing the impact that this program has, and with the cost of living in Toronto rapidly outpacing social assistance rates I know that it’s more important now than ever. Hundreds of people who are precariously housed and living in poverty use our drop-in each year, and many of them are able to maintain their housing and avoid going hungry with thanks to the funds you help us raise!

At our last in-person event in 2019 you helped me raise $15,000—well above my $10,000 goal for the year—and in honour of that I ran the 5k in a tuxedo. That offer is on the table again this year. If we hit $15,000 I'll be sporting my tux.
