Please help us make this year's Santa Shuffle 2018 - Toronto in support of The Governing Council of the Salvation Army in Canada one of the best ever

I need your help this holiday season, raising money for those lees fortunate than you and I.

The funds from this event will be directed to Gateway’s drop-in program. The drop-in serves thousands of homeless people every year who are in need of warmth, meals, friendship and safety. We did three rounds of surveys with the drop-in guests in 2017 and learned that:

•             58% of drop-in users have a place to live but rely on the drop-in to supplement their income;

•             60% are living on less than $1200/month (30% on less than $800/month);

•             And 48% are over the age of 50.

I’m passionate about raising support for this program because it meets a very clear need and prevents vulnerable people from experiencing homelessness. For those who are less than a pay cheque away from losing their accommodation, The Gateway’s drop-in provides a very real life line.

Last year this event raised $75,000 and we are aiming to up that this year. The drop-in program costs approximately $100,000 a year to operate, and is not subsidized by the government – it is 100% donor funded.
