In loving memory of Brian Blattler,

Brian Herbert Blattler (January 21, 1959 - March 1, 2018)

It is with extreme heartbreak and profound sadness that we are letting you know a hero in our lives has left us long before we could have ever imagined. He had so much more to do! Brian always took the road less travelled. His smile was large and easy to illicit. He was a risk taker with a fun-loving spirit. He was curious, creative, and persevering with a thirst for knowledge and new experience that was insatiable. He excelled as a pipeline engineer and enjoyed many different roles from project management to executive positions. He truly enjoyed working with and mentoring people and has many longtime friends within the oil and gas industry. Although he pursued science, his love of art and his unique social skills made him and engineer with a "twist". Brian was also a journeyman plumber and a home builder extraordinaire. There was no problem that didn't have an answer.

Brian was born in Regina, SK. He met and married his loving wife and teammate Marilyn (Morin) in Calgary in 1986 after returning from a cross Atlantic sailing trip from Gibraltar to Barbados. He truly was a many of many skills. Their two sons, Daniel (29) and Gregory (27) came along and quickly became the centre of their lives. Life together has been full to the brim and we grateful for that. Brian loved and was well loved. Brian is survived and will be dearly missed by his parents Herb and Maureen (Kaminski) Blattler, sister Joanne Lunn, and brother Bob (Sandra) Blattler. He will also be greatly missed by his mother-in-law, Doris Morin, brothers and sisters in law, Max (Lynda) Morin, Larry (Evelyn) Morin, Ray (Rhonda) Morin, Sharon (Terry) Copot, Lynn (Rick) Morin. Numerous nieces and nephews as well as their children will truly miss his smiling face. Special Thanks to Dr. Jennifer Hughes and nurse Mike for their compassion and also to our caring friend Dr. Lester Mercuur for his hugs, wisdom and guidance.

Thank you in advance for all of the support, also thank you to Light It Up YYC and Wellspring for keeping my fathers legacy alive!
