Thank you so much to everyone at the Running Room who helped us through our 1st Annual St. Patrick's Day Run/Walk event. It was a surprisingly simple process thanks to the great folks at the Running Room. As a charitable organization, the online registration/giving site was huge in cutting down on both our administrative costs and workload. We also appreciated the online Volunteer sign up, it helped in making the organization of this event so much easier. Not having participated in something like this before, I was surprised to learn how much the Running Room empowers people and groups to move in a healthy, positive direction. The St. Patrick's Day Run began as a fundraising idea for our non-profit group that serves to strengthen Emergency Service workers (Police, Fire, EMS and Corrections) and their families. Thanks to our sponsors and wonderful community participation, we easily met our target goal. It was a huge success and has begun a Diakonos tradition. It has motivated me personally and I joined a Learn to Run class and look forward to participating as a runner this time, in our 2nd Annual St. Pat's Run on Sunday, March 16, 2008. See you there!

This is our second year working with the Running Room for our run/walk event. We appreciate the RR team's expertise as well as their patience. The online registration and pledging system is a great help in keeping our event running in an efficient way. Our participants found the website easy to navigate and use. Having the Running Room as a partner is also a great way to increase exposure for your event, especially those that are new.
Race Director, Concordia Foundation Caring for Community Run/Walk Event
- The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Quebec is delighted to have the involvement and support of the Running Room. A run/walk was organized at the recent launch of their new store in Brossard, Quebec. We were thrilled to have been chosen as the recipients of the funds raised from the entry fees for this event. By partnering with such a lovely national organization as the Running Room we can encourage our donors and supporters not only to participate in their running clinics and fundraisers that encourage a healthy lifestyle, but they can do so in knowing that they are helping a child to realize their most special wish.
I'd recommend Running Room's registration/pledging system to any registered charity seeking to broaden its donor base and lower its administration costs. Feedback from participants and donors indicates they really like the user-friendly registration process and the instant tax receipt function. Knowing Running Room's expert IT department, dedicated web site developers (Rod Danyluk - take a bow) and experienced events coordinator (the ever patient Liz Caine) will quickly respond to any issues lets race directors concentrate on the race logistics itself and that's a good thing.

- We count ourselves very lucky to have the Running Room on board to help us with our major annual fundraiser. Last year the Running Room's sponsorship took our little run from an event that consistently attracted 30 runners to one that welcomed 115, and we expect to get bigger this year! The exposure given our run through their website and in their stores alone is worth so much, but when you add the online registration and pledge collection system that they provide, as well as the constant (and patient!) support and advice offered by the expert staff, their sponsorship becomes invaluable. We look forward to having many more years of partnership with such an excellent and generous organization, and to watching our run grow as a result. Thank you so much!

This event is the most important fundraiser of the year for us and makes a significant difference in our ability to offer a 24/7 crisis line in 154 languages to more than 49,000 callers a year.

Thank you for all your help with our race this year, we had more participants and made more money, so all our goals were met and exceeded! Yippee! Your expert advice and professionalism was deeply appreciated by me and my committee. Many of our participants used your online pledging system, which made giving and receiving support from their friends and family quick and convenient, not to mention easy for us! The race day ran smoothly, and in the words of one of our participants, "Absolutely, nothing short of a phenomenal success. But, then again, what can we expect when we have phenomenal people as race directors, and race organizers."
The all volunteer Calgary Chapter of Muscular Dystrophy Canada has enjoyed a really great three year relationship with the Running Room, our main sponsor and partner for the annual "Catch the Elves" 10k pre Xmas run.
With no previous experience, and with a great deal of assistance from folk like Liz Caine and our local race events admin. Jacqui Allison, we started with the 2004 run, which netted about $5000.
Our 2006 run raised over $30,000, and with the assistance of our new RR Events Coordinator Ryne Melcher, we expect even more this year.
The Running Room's, on-line registration and tracking system, works beautifully.
As John Stanton explained to me a while back, successful runs build year by year, sponsorship and donors become a little easier to find, and the runners look forward to the event.

We are thrilled to have had the Running Rooms assistance, guidance and sponsorship for Second Cup's first annual Dash On for Compassion. They were an incredible source of support with the organizing and direction for our first year planning. As race director I found it overwhelming to plan my first race but with their constant encouragement and help we had an incredible first year with over 275 runners. Second Cup and the Compassion House Foundation owe the success largely to the Running Room! We are so proud of our event and look forward to building a strong partnership with them for many years to come!

On June 24, 2007, Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario held its 7th Annual Share the Power of a Wish Run/Walk. Thanks to our sponsors, participants and volunteers, we raised over $40,000.00 for our wish children! Over 300 runners and walkers took part in this year's event.
Once again the London Running Room sponsored our event, and we benefited from the kind support of Barry, Colin and their staff team. The Running Room supplied us with the start/finish banner, medals, race numbers, kit bags, and the site for kit pick up. The staff helped promote our Run/Walk to their clinics and customers. Barry provided additional assistance by obtaining two in-kind donations, and by entering runners online who registered by brochure. On race day Barry and Colin helped set up the kilometer markers on the route, the start/finish line, and the Running Room tent. Barry was the lead biker for our 10K and 5K events, while Colin organized the timing of our participants. We wish to thank the London Running Room team for everything they did to help make our Run/Walk a success!
We would also like to express our thanks to Liz Caine for her help in setting up our Online Registration and Pledging and our Giving Page, as well as arranging a discount once again on the gift certificates we purchase as pledge incentives.

I just wanted to thank you and the Running Room team for all your help and support in ensuring that our annual OTMH Classic is a successful event. I've worked with you all for 7 years now and have never had a problem that you haven't been able to quickly resolve. You and the rest of the online staff have always been so supportive, able to answer questions quickly and have easily customized the site to suit our needs.
Mark Arnott has also been a tremendous support and a great asset to our event - we deeply value his input and experience. Every year he makes sure there are no glitches in the event - from setup to road closures to last minute crises - he handles it all with ease and we are forever grateful!
The staff at the Running Room Store here in Oakville has also always been amazingly helpful in promoting the event, recruiting runners and assisting us with our registration process, thanks to Paul Shields for being so accommodating and easy to work with! We also greatly appreciate the opportunity to hold our pre-registration at the store the day before the event, this is a great way for us to get a head start on the event!

The Running Room giving site has truly made a big difference to our fundraising. From last year's online pledging through Running Room to this year, we saw an increase of 350%. That's fantastic and we hope to continue to grow our fundraising through the Running Room in 2008. Thanks Liz for walking me through the online tools and ensuring we were able to effectively use the system. I also LOVE the reports. We are able to easily import them into our database.
We are hoping next year's Around the Bay Road Race in support of St. Joseph's Healthcare will be even more successful.
A huge thank-you to all the great folks at The Running Room who organize the Okanagan International Marathon, in Kelowna, BC. Last year we raised $14,500 for Sunshine Dreams for Kids, a Canadian Non Profit Charity.
With over 3000 runners, the Okanagan International Marathon has been a huge success and getting bigger each year. We look forward to having a great time working with the Running Room again this year!

Thanks to this continuing support of the vast Running Room team, the Rebecca Run for SMA (Newmarket ON) was another outstanding success on July 7th. Our little event raised $158,000 dollars putting our 6-year total to $710,000. More important that the dollars, I was able to announce breakthrough research news. There is a cure in sight and we are now taking a fantastic compound to the FDA approval stage and then hitting the road running with 1st phase human trials. In mice this compound eradicates all symptoms of SMA disease. It is a very exciting time in SMA and in medicine, and we have Running Room to thank.
Although there is an entire team at Running Room that assists us with our event, I would particularly like to thank the following people:
Liz Caine: Your can-do attitude and fabulous sense of humor drives us through any unforeseen challenges, always leading to a smooth landing! It's an absolute joy working with you. Thank you Liz!
Mark Arnott: Regardless of where you are and what you are doing, you always have time for us. You saved the day again this year by coordinating with Chris Evans to solve a huge error on our part, the day before the race. Thank you Mark for your years of support.
