Pink Ribbon runners

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Running Room are proud to sponsor Free Survivor Training Programs.

Running Room is pleased to offer this exclusive opportunity to women who have endured and overcome breast cancer to train for the 5K or 1K Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure.

This FREE 10 week training program is structured entirely around breast cancer survivors needs and will give participants a chance to network with other women who have faced similar challenges with their health. This training program uses running, walking, stretching and health education to provide the tools for long lasting fitness. It is ideal for survivors who want to set and attain new fitness goals such as running (or walking) in a 5km event.

Your training program class will be held once a week at the date and time listed on your registration. Each class starts with a 20 to 30 minute group seminar followed by a group run. To complete your weekly training schedule, you will then join your instructor and group for runs and walks (i.e. no class) at Run Club on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure was created in 1992 by a small group of volunteers who wanted to raise awareness and funds for the cause. The first event took place in Toronto. Over 1,500 participants raised $85,000 - an outstanding success! Through the ongoing dedication of our volunteers, this single event grew into what it is today … Canada's largest single-day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to breast cancer research, education and awareness. Here is a brief history:
