SHERBROOKE QC (Monday, March 29, 2010) – John Stanton, Running Room founder and author, will visit Sherbrooke when the company he founded opens their first store at 3145 boulevard de Portland in Sherbrooke, Quebec, across from Carrefour de l'Estrie.


Stanton has written five best selling books on running and walking. He entered 2010 being named a Member of the Order of Canada for his contributions to promoting physical fitness and active lifestyles as founder of the Running Room, as well as for his support of charitable groups.

Coming Together for Cancer Care
Run/Walk to Raise Funds for the Walker Family Cancer Centre

(March 11, 2010) – Today, concurrent to the Running Room’s announcement that they will open a store in St. Catharines, Ontario on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, the Running Room has announced that they will host Coming Together For Cancer Care, a charity/run walk at 6:30 p.m. on opening night to benefit the Walker Family Cancer Centre.


The Running Room has teamed up for the run/walk with the seven Niagara area hospital foundations spearheading the Niagara Health System’s (NHS) It’s Our Time Campaign, a coordinated initiative working on a number of healthcare infrastructure improvements for the NHS. Included is the Walker Family Cancer Centre, which is currently under construction in St. Catharines and will serve cancer patients in the entire Niagara region.

Company Announces It will open Its First Niagara Region
Running Room/Walking Room Combination Store in St. Catharines

(March 11, 2010) – Running Room Canada officially announced today that the company will open a store in the Niagara Region at Mountain Locks Plaza, 200-343 Glendale Avenue in St. Catharines, Ontario on Wednesday, March 24, 2010.


John Stanton, Running Room founder and author of five books on running and walking, will be in the Niagara region for the store opening. The visit to St. Catharines will be the first official visit Stanton has made since being inducted into the Order of Canada in January for his contribution to
promoting fitness and healthy lifestyles as well as his support of charitable groups.
