Athens Greece
“The birthplace of civilization”

  • Athens is considered by some to have the most glorious history in the world. Athens is a city with different aspects. A stroll around the oldest neighborhoods (famous historic triangle), reveals the coexistence of different eras- old mansions, both well-preserved and worn down by time.

In Athens you will be part of what is known as the 2500th anniversary of marathon! This is a once in a lifetime chance to be part of this kind of history in the making. According to legend, The Athens Marathon covers the same ground that the Athenian messenger Phiedippides ran when he brought news of victory from the battlefield of Marathon 2,500 years ago. When your group runs the Athens Marathon, they will be running in the very footsteps of the ancient gods and heroes that gave birth to western civilization.

The finish line is in Athens' magnificent Olympic Stadium, the birthplace of the modern Olympic Games. Those who run the Athens Marathon say it is an experience they'll never forget.

Everest Trek Adventure
October 2010 15 day trek

  • Everest Trek Adventure
The Arthritis Society's Joints In Motion Training Team is planning to head to an amazing trek adventure in the mountains of Nepal.

Everest Base Camp conjures up visions of sheer awe and beauty, and this epic journey will not disappoint! Isolated and considered of little importance to either Sherpa or Tibetans, the mountain is home only to a minor deity. The newly confirmed “highest mountain in the world” received its English name in honor of Sir George Everest, the recently retired head of the Survey of India.

Although participants of this exciting journey will have porters and guides assisting them along the way, this expedition includes high altitude trekking and difficult terrain and is suitable for those with a high level of fitness and endurance.

    Draft Itinerary:
