New Moon in May - Calgary, Alberta
Despite the snow there was an amazing turn out for the first New Moon
In May Adventure Race that took place from midnight till dawn on May 3rd
deep in the Ghost forest area near Cochrane Alberta. (Well it actually
finished about 8:30 am due to the adverse weather conditions) Staff and
runners from the Calgary running room helped out at the transition stations
and Calgary's own area manager James Richards managed an excellent 3rd
place solo runner in his first ever adventure race. The pictures tell
some of the story but for a true feel why not come out to one of the remaining
three events of this fun adventure race series sponsored by the Running
Room.

Physio Fit Run - Winnipeg
Saturday May 3rd, 2003 over 1900 walkers and runners attended and participated
in the 2003 Physio Fit Run. The day was kicked off with a whoosh of the
10K in-line skate, and the lone wheelchair participant, Colin Mathison.
The following event was the 3K Fit Walk; with 500 participants in
this great family event. The 10K Timex Series Road Race was next with
a field of about 600 participants; and all of this was followed with the
5K Fun Run with about 700 participants both running and walking. The Winnipeg
Running Room locations had strong support for this event from Learn
to Run, 10K Training, For Women Only, and Half and Full marathon clinic
members running and walking the various distances. All walkers and runners
were treated to a spread of food and numerous draw prizes donated by local
sponsors.
This event is definitely one that focuses on participation
for the entire family with various distances available. Put next year
on your calendar if you are looking for a great time with another
1900+ runners and walkers. |
