I'm just curious. I was reading the nutrition label of the bag of the "No-name low-fat pretzels" the other day. It said (this is per serving) 46 pretzels = 116 calories. The ingredients are wheat flour, malt, salt, yeast, and sodium bicarbonate (i think??). Amazingly, no hydrogenated oil!! There is only 0.8 grams of fat. Is this too good to be true?? Can pretzels become part of a healthy diet (or atleast these ones explained above) because I love the salty crunch!!! (its not like I eat 46 pretzels in one sitting)

Mmmm....I LOVE pretzels. My new favority are the whole wheat honey ones....just enough sweetness and saltiness to satisfy cravings!

Actually pretzels are an excellent snack choice but a little high in salt.

I've got an open bag on my counter at all times to munch from. Yes, they're the perfect low-fat carbo-regenerator...

Nancy Clarke's Sports Nutrition Guidebook (available at RR) mentions prezels all the time when discussing healthy snacks. Salt and Carbs - really, what else do you need?

I never really eat pretzels myself. I should buy a bag and have it at my desk to snack on when needed then.

Thanks!

Pretzels and gingerale.... yes... those were the food and drink of choice of the first trimester of my second pregnancy. Did you know that you can gain a lot of weight while snacking on pretzels and gingerale??? Oh well... they settled my stomach!

Actually, pretzels are one of the "snack" foods that I keep in the house. The kids love them, and don't realize that they are a reasonably healthy snack. They also like the ones that are alphabet shapes!

Pretzels are an awesome snack!
And to lower the salt intake there are pretzels coated with sesame seeds instead of salt! Very Yummy! Razz
They are usually found in the "kosher" section....Enjoy!

If you ever need to stay awake on a road trip, munching on pretzels will do it. I used to get calls to rigs at 3 in the morning, and I wouldn't leave the house without a bag of pretzels.

In hot weather, I'll take pretzels with me on long runs. They don't upset my stomach and the salt helps to replace all the salt I lose sweating out the miles and miles.

That is good to know. I usually try to pick off the salt, I'm not a big salt person. Smile Chocolate yes, salt no.

My sister loves pretzels! I heard they are very good for you! I rarely have them though, they are a little bit to salty for my taste buds!
